Fall 2023 application deadline: May 1, 2023

Candidates for admission to the Master’s degree program must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university, and should have a quantitative background that includes courses in economics, calculus, and statistics. We will use a combination of relevant completed coursework and scores on the GRE quantitative sections to assess students’ quantitative abilities. Strong grades in economics and mathematics courses, as well as academic potential, will be important to the admissions committee.

Required application materials:

• UO online Graduate Application. Application fees apply
• Unofficial transcripts (all applicants). Upload unofficial transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended as part of the online application. Unofficial transcripts should show all coursework taken to date and, if applicable, the title of the degree earned and the date the degree was conferred.
• Official transcripts (admitted applicants who accept offer). If you accept an admissions offer and matriculate, you must submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities where you received a bachelor’s degree or higher. • Two academic letters of recommendation. Enter recommenders’ emails in online application.
• Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores sent from the testing center. UO institution code: 4846; Economics Department code: 1801. GRE scores are required unless you are a University of Oregon undergraduate who qualifies for a GRE waiver.
• Evidence of meeting English language requirement. All applicants for whom English is not a native/primary language must satisfy one of the following English Language Proficiency criteria in order to be eligible for admission.

The final deadline for applications is May 1 for fall term admission, however decisions will be made on a rolling basis and applicants may receive their admissions decision anytime after January 1.
