HIST 410 – How to Teach History

Tuesdays, 5:00‐7:50 PM
This course for advanced undergraduates and graduate students will engage with the
intellectual and practical concerns of teaching history in the K12 or higher education context. It
is a rigorous course designed for anyone who has already taken history courses at the college
level and is considering a career involving teaching related subjects. Students will work with
significant independence to create usable materials such as a syllabus and/or lesson plans. We
will discuss shared readings, group work, and independent projects in our weekly class
meetings.
