Sue Grigsby Scholarship

PHILOSOPHY and GOALS

Sue Grigsby, a graduate of the University of Oregon, who earned her Master’s degree in Physical Education in 1982, established this scholarship.  Ms. Grigsby has taught physical education since 1984 at Everett Community College in Everett, Washington, and is now the Physical Education/Health/Wellness Department Chair there.  She requested that this scholarship be awarded to a student who demonstrates strong academic ability, good citizenship, and personal integrity.

ELIGIBILITY and CRITERIA

The Sue Grigsby Scholarship was established to aid qualified undergraduates in the Department of Human Physiology.  Applicants must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, sophomore or junior status as a HPHY major, and must have attended the University of Oregon for at least one year (45 quarter credits) prior to receiving any funds from this scholarship.  The decision will be made on the applicant’s academic promise, career goals, and the strength of commitment to good citizenship and ethics.  The amount of the award may vary from year to year, but is traditionally $500.  Students who receive the award are encouraged to reapply and compete for this award in appropriate ensuing years.
