What do we do with your gifts?

Your support helps us to do a wide variety of things both large and small. Here are some examples of what we have been doing with past and current donations:

• The Julie and Rocky Dixon Chair in U.S. Western History
• Endeavour Faculty Fellowships to support faculty research
• Brush Fellowships to support faculty research
• Catherine Cornwall Faculty Support Fund, to provide support for faculty who specialize in Pacific Northwest history
• The Kawasaki Family Endowed Fund in Japanese History, to support the advancement of Japanese historical studies at the University of Oregon
• The Stan and Joan Pierson Lecture fund, for an annual public lecture in honor of Stan and Joan Pierson
• Robert Lyon Memorial Endowment to support teaching and research
• Leah Kirker Memorial Fund to recognize one outstanding Graduate Teaching Fellow each year
• Thomas P. Govan Fund to support research by untenured faculty and advanced doctoral candidates
• Paul Dull Scholarship to support outstanding junior history majors
• Thomas T. Turner Prize to support either an undergraduate or a graduate student on the basis of financial need and demonstrated academic success
• Edwin Bingham Scholarship awarded to an out-of-state sophomore or junior history major for academic excellence
• John A. Schwab Memorial Scholarship for an outstanding undergraduate who intends to teach history at the secondary or college level
• Robert E. Lang Memorial Scholarship for an outstanding undergraduate who demonstrates the scholarly and ethical values exemplified by Bob Lang
• Peggy Pascoe Graduate Student Fund in History to support graduate student research
• Faculty Recognition Award, a commencement award to recognize exceptional work as an undergraduate, funded by faculty contributions
• Richard Brown History fund, to assist graduate students with research or travel expenses
• Breen History fund to make improvements to 373 McKenzie Hall
